Reading option walls

Option walls are strikes where large open interest is concentrated (many contracts still open). Such levels often become points where price “stumbles”.

  • Call walls — above price, usually act as resistance (red in OLIMP).
  • Put walls — below price, usually act as support (green).

How to use them. The larger the wall, the more significant the level — expect a price reaction near it (slowdown, bounce, consolidation). Walls are handy for setting targets and stops, and for seeing the “corridor” in which large players hold positions. Don’t enter blindly just because price reached a wall — wait for confirmation from the market itself.
