OI flows: progress and regress

Open interest (OI) at a level isn’t static — it changes every trading day. OLIMP shows this as flows.

  • Progress — positions build up at the level (OI rises). The level becomes more significant.
  • Regress — positions unwind (OI falls). The level weakens.
  • Holding — OI barely changes.

How to use it. Inflow at a wall confirms its strength: if large interest keeps accumulating at a strike, a price reaction there is more likely. Outflow, conversely, signals the level is losing relevance. Cross-check flows with walls and Max Pain to tell “live” levels from fading ones.
