The Notification mode is a button at the bottom of the indicator panel (since version 3.2.02). It expands three event switches and a sound button. An enabled event does two things: draws arrows on the chart for past occurrences and raises an alert when a new one happens. A disabled event does nothing.
All notifications are informational. An arrow shows a "bias": green ▲ for up, red ▼ for down. The hint on every arrow says: "Not a trading recommendation". It is end-of-day context, not a trade signal.
Three events
- Price·OI: price and futures open interest diverged. A day when futures OI fell (by no more than 6%; a sharper drop is an expiry or a roll) and price moved noticeably (at least half of the expected daily move). Price up while OI falls is a "bias down": a move on position closing, with no new money. Price down while OI falls is a "bias up": position closing.
- Touch: price first touched the level of a large OI inflow (the strike premium), if that level lies outside the ±1σ corridor. The arrow points "away from the level": level above price — ▼, below — ▲. The inflow threshold comes from the "if inflow from" setting.
- Max Pain: a monthly or quarterly series expired far from its Max Pain (a gap of 0.3 to 3σ). The arrow points toward Max Pain: above price — ▲, below — ▼. For metals and energy only for now; weekly series are not used.
How to read an arrow
- The arrow sits on the next trading day after the data date: the CME report comes out the next morning, so a user cannot see it earlier. The hint says "As of MM/DD".
- So an arrow always lags by at least one session. It marks a day that has already happened, it is not an entry point.
- Hover the arrow: the hint gives the reason for the event and the disclaimer.
The alert
On a new event a banner appears in the middle of the chart: direction, instrument, description and disclaimer. It stays for two minutes or until you click it, and the OLIMP signal sounds. You can turn the sound off with the "Alert sound" button — the banner remains.
- Events that already happened raise no banner, only history arrows. The first load of the indicator on an instrument and the moment you enable a switch are "silent".
- The banner appears while the indicator is running: if the terminal was closed you will not get a missed alert, but the arrow stays on the chart.
- If two charts of the same instrument are open, the alert comes once.
Notifications only and profiles (since version 3.2.04)
- "Notifications only" is a switch in the submenu. The chart keeps candles, the arrows of the selected events and alerts; levels, strikes, the info panel and margin zones are hidden. The control panel stays and the mode is turned off by clicking again. While it is on, the "Notification mode" button gets a "· only" mark.
- Profiles. Notification mode (the three events, sound and "Notifications only") is part of each of the five display profiles: a profile remembers both the levels and the notifications. Save a profile with "Notifications only" on, and you can switch to the "quiet" chart with one click on the profile.
- Default set. On first install the indicator creates five profiles: "My" (a slot for your own settings), "Signals" (notifications only), "Intraday", "Options" and "OI prof". The "Intraday" profile is switched on for the first chart. Profiles of existing users are not changed; profile names can be renamed with a double click.
What is known about reliability
These signals are observations on the data collected so far (summer 2026). Use the arrows as context next to the other levels: walls, Max Pain, balances and the expected move together give the full picture. Information, not a trading recommendation.
You can see what it looks like without installing anything: the simulator has a "Notification mode" lesson (including "Notifications only" and profiles).
